INFANTS AND TODDLERS

At Tree Hill Learning Center we understand that in the first years of life, infants and toddlers are beginning to create a picture of who they are, what they can do, and what they think and feel. During this special and significant stage, learning occurs at a rate unmatched by any other phase of life!

Establishing trusting relationships with the infants and toddlers in our care is of utmost importance to us.

Our primary goal is to provide a warm atmosphere where your little one will feel safe, secure and cared for. Each day we provide enjoyable and engaging opportunities for learning and growth while maintaining a consistent routine for each child to aid in smoothing the transition from home to school.

With these goals in mind, we have created a nurturing program where we hope your young child will thrive. At this young age, children learn about themselves, their feelings and the people around them during each and every interaction and activity. While we plan fun, developmentally appropriate activities and learning opportunities for our toddlers, we also allow the children to learn and discover at their own pace, encouraging individual exploration as well as group interaction.

Our Seedlings room is a special place for young infants.

We are able to accept babies as young as 3 months old to our program, and they begin to transition to our Acorns class at 12 months of age.

With our 1:4 ratio, our Infant Specialists understand the importance of purposeful interactions with very young children. They will sing, read books, and count fingers and toes just like you would at home. We know how important it is to keep your baby on the same schedule you have set at home, your child's caregiver will work with you to provide the consistency you desire.

Knowing the importance of the bond you share with your baby, we encourage you to come in to rock, feed, and play with your baby to your heart's content.

The Acorns class is designed for children 12 to 18 months. Every child has different needs when moving to a new classroom, we work with each family to create an individualized transition plan that works for them. Our Acorns class is a transitional room between our Seedlings and Oak Leaves class, it is kept intentionally small to create a calm, intimate environment where children can gain confidence in their budding independence.

This group of children loves to explore, learn, and laugh. Some of their favorite activities are playing with playdough, singing and reading books, and playing outside. Every day we create an environment that is fun and inviting, whether we are playing a game or just being silly together. Our wonderful group loves working together while learning how to take care of ourselves and each other every day.

The Oak Leaves class is a perfect space for busy children aged 18 to 30 months! With intentionally designed learning centers and a consistent yet flexible schedule, it is an ideal space for toddlers.

Learning goals for Oak Leaves range from self-help skills such as washing hands and putting on our shoes, to early literacy skills. Each day they are provided with learning opportunities during circle times and small group activities. Some of our favorite learning activities include sensory exploration, story time, building with blocks, and a variety of art projects!

Potty training is an important milestone for all toddlers, our Oak Leaves team is ready to help you with this process! Our teachers work with parents to create an individualized potty training plan, and have a variety of resources and advice to provide.
